Overview As ART Underwriting Lead you will guide end-to-end underwriting of complex ART transactions within AXIS ART, driving profitable growth. You'll collaborate across underwriting, actuarial, legal, claims, finance, and compliance to design bespoke risk transfer solutions. You shape deal structures, negotiate terms, and ensure governance and risk appetite alignment. This role combines analytical pricing, transaction structuring, and cross-functional coordination to deliver client-focused ART solutions. The opportunity offers leadership in a high-growth unit within a global specialty insurer, with meaningful impact on portfolio profitability and market presence.

Responsibilities- End-to-end deal management and underwriting with profitability focus
- Due diligence on risks, industries, transaction structures, motivations, and client Know Your Customer
- Design and negotiation of solution structures and manuscript terms including NBIs, quotations, and policy language
- Lead cross-functional deal reviews with ART, actuarial/pricing, legal/wording, LOB underwriting, claims, and senior referral leaders
- Engage in relationship and marketing activities, product development, broker/client relationship management, and thought leadership
- Ensure compliance with underwriting processes, deal documentation, and governance
- Provide post-bind handoff, monitoring, and ongoing deal maintenance
Key requirements- Strong analytical, structuring, and quantitative skills as a P&C underwriter or ART actuary
- P&C insurance or reinsurance underwriting experience
- Experience drafting or negotiating manuscript terms with legal/contract wording professionals
- Excellent communication and networking skills for presenting complex transactions to senior decision-makers
- Strong negotiation and deal management/execution skills
