Overview As a Senior Associate in RSM's Real Estate FaaS, you support private, middle-market clients with accounting and financial reporting, leveraging cloud-based technology. You will work closely with client executives and cross-functional teams to manage month-end close, financial statements, and forecasting while identifying process improvements. You'll guide and coach junior staff, helping clients optimize their real estate operations and reporting. This role combines hard accounting work with strategic client collaboration in a dynamic, tech-enabled environment.

Responsibilities- Serve as the primary contact for client Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash, and Month End Close cycles
- Operate in client technology environments and within the FaaS tech stack
- Lead, manage and coach client services representatives and associates
- Review monthly journal entries for prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued expenses, payroll, and inventory
- Approve bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare/Review monthly financial statements with variance and budget-vs-actual analysis
- Analyze financial data to provide actionable insight and decision support
- Identify opportunities to enhance monthly operations and suggest process improvements
- Define and document repeatable methodologies and leverage tools/templates for future projects
- Understand the technology stack and identify add-on processes, systems, modules, and integrations to improve month-end close efficiency
Key requirements- Bachelor in Accounting or Finance
- Experience performing property-level accounting and finance functions
- Experience working with property managers to resolve issues and explain variances
- Experience in Real Estate technology systems (e.g., Yardi, MRI)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to balance multiple responsibilities with strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Experience in a public accounting or professional services environment preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with automated accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, Blackline, FloQast, Basis)
- Pursuing CPA or CPA preferred but not required
