Overview Senior Medical Science Liaison in obesity for Amgen acts as the primary scientific resource to key clinicians and decision makers, executing the medical strategy to improve patient outcomes. You will engage with investigators, speak at congresses, and support research while collaborating across the One Amgen network. The role blends science, relationships, and cross-functional execution in a field-based US Medical team. Responsibilities- Engage with Opinion Leaders, PHDMs, and community providers to advance the scientific platform aligned with company goals
- Interact with investigators and sites to support the obesity pipeline
- Communicate scientific data to IDNs and institutions, detailing clinical value and economic data
- Connect external and internal stakeholders to amplify reach and access for patients
- Conduct in-depth scientific exchanges with balanced clinical information under compliance standards
- Support Amgen-sponsored research and may serve as study lead
- Liaise with investigators in non-sponsored research
- Present field observations to internal stakeholders to inform strategy
- Lead and support congress activities aligned with strategy
- Support speaker training and ensure data updates for speakers
- Lead/participate in project teams supporting MSL strategies and tactics
- Collaborate across Amgen field roles to ensure coordinated One Amgen experience
- Mentor other MSLs as designated
- Complete administrative tasks (Veeva CRM, expenses, training) timely
- Maintain clinical/scientific acumen with current data and trends
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and communicate scientific data effectively
Key requirements- Doctorate with 2+ years Medical Affairs experience OR Master with 6+ years OR Bachelor with 8+ years in Medical Affairs
- Cardiometabolic/Obesity domain expertise preferred
- 2+ years in an MSL role within biotech/pharma
- Experience in Scientific Affairs or Medical Affairs in biotech/pharma
- Territory experience in designated region
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and in a field-based role
