Overview In this role you drive growth for Kennedy Jenks' national water and wastewater practice by building strong client relationships and leading cross-functional teams. You will steer business development, project delivery, and strategic planning to expand our footprint in the public and private sectors. The position blends leadership, client service, and market insight to shape project opportunities and brand presence. You'll collaborate across offices to deliver high-impact solutions and advance the practice's mission.

Responsibilities- Engage with the marketplace to identify and pursue opportunities with new clients and projects
- Leverage existing municipal and industry relationships to expand service offerings
- Build, lead, and motivate teams to deliver exceptional client service on projects
- Manage key projects from planning through construction to ensure quality delivery
- Lead client service and engagement to enhance personal and company brand; identify growth opportunities
- Contribute to statewide strategic planning using marketing insights and established client relationships
- Collaborate with internal leaders to hire and develop staff
- Oversee strategic project positioning, develop teaming partners, supervise proposal development, and prepare for client interviews
- Oversee project scope, schedules, fee negotiations, staffing, and coordination across planning, design, and construction
- Travel to client sites and Kennedy Jenks offices as needed
- Contribute to project delivery goals by managing projects or serving as a project engineer or team member
Key requirements- Local market expertise with established relationships and strong technical knowledge in water, wastewater, pipeline, stormwater, environmental, and industrial consulting
- Proven entrepreneurial spirit with experience in business development, relationship-building, negotiation, and client service management
- Strong team-building abilities and inclusive leadership
- Excellent written, editing, research, and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
- BS or MS in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or related engineering field; PE license required or ability to obtain immediately
- DBIA certification and design-build experience are a plus
