Overview In this role, you will support a leading international law firm's Defense, National Security & Government Contracts Practice Group in Washington, DC. You will handle government contracts matters, including bid protests and disputes, regulatory counseling, and internal investigations, within a cross-functional team. You will shape strategy on FAR compliance and federal procurement issues and contribute to high-profile matters at the intersection of government, business, and national security. Responsibilities- Advise clients on government contracts and federal procurement matters
- Handle bid protests, Contract Disputes Act claims, and related disputes
- Counsel on FAR and procurement regulations compliance
- Conduct and support internal investigations on contracting issues
- Draft and negotiate contracts, memoranda, and transactional documents
- Provide strategic regulatory, compliance, and risk management guidance
- Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas on complex matters with government, regulatory, and national security considerations
Key requirements- 5-8 years of substantive Government Contracts experience
- Active Bar Admission in Washington, DC, in good standing (or eligible)
- Strong knowledge of FAR and related procurement regulations
- Experience advising on compliance, investigations, and disputes in government contracting
- Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team player
- Large law firm experience preferred
- Ability to independently manage complex matters with attention to detail
