Overview In this role, you will lead estimating efforts for large, complex projects nationwide, collaborating with the Senior Estimating Manager and Preconstruction team. You'll mentor estimators, develop cost models, and ensure bids align with project goals and schedule. The position supports Gilbane's mission to deliver projects safely, on time, and with high value across diverse sectors. Responsibilities- Lead estimating deliverables for projects in coordination with the Senior Estimating Manager, preconstruction lead, operations, and BD staff
- Coordinate site services cost development with operations, Senior Estimating Manager, and preconstruction lead
- Develop self through coaching under senior managers for conceptual cost estimates and documented assumptions
- Review project plans and specifications to inform estimates
- Coach and mentor a team of estimators on large, multi-disciplinary estimates
- Determine contingencies, allowances, labor, and equipment costs
- Assess bid documents and project risks to align with value and schedule
- Assist operations in bid package development and bid analysis with subcontractors
- Attend scope review meetings to support bid recommendations
- Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction
- Create accurate cost models in Gilbane's costing software
- Track price Escalation trends for materials and labor
- Identify lead times and align with project schedule
- Contribute Value Management ideas to reduce cost and increase value
- Collaborate with Owner and design teams to reconcile estimates
- Substantiate all aspects of final estimates
- Engage in external communication of estimating deliverables
- Coach junior team members

Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- 5-10+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to lead the estimating process and deliverables across design phases
- Extensive knowledge of On-Screen Take-off, Destini, and Site work software for take-offs
- Ability to present estimates and participate in pursuit interviews
- Ability to conceptually estimate with limited information
- Experience estimating multiple facility types and delivery methods
