Overview Senior Construction Manager at Dewberry leads oversight of water, wastewater, storm water, flood control, and related infrastructure projects. You'll supervise inspectors, provide resident project representation, and support design reviews and construction management services for municipal and private clients. The role focuses on delivery quality, risk management, and client growth across multiple delivery methods. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive projects from planning through construction.
Responsibilities- Oversee construction projects and programs for public, private, state, and federal clients
- Monitor scope, schedule, and budget; ensure adherence to plans
- Prepare and participate in price and technical proposals
- Support growth and client retention for water, wastewater, storm water, flood control, and pipeline infrastructure
- Recruit, mentor, and manage project staff
- Contribute to business development and pursuit of new clients and project leads
- Provide construction management/inspection services during planning, design, and construction phases
- Engage in claims avoidance, risk management, and schedule control
- Demonstrate leadership and communicate effectively with clients and regulatory agencies
- Maintain professional standards and safe, compliant project delivery
- Possibly perform resident project representation (RPR) and oversee inspectors and site observations
Key requirements- 15+ years in construction management, construction engineering, and/or construction inspection
- Extensive experience with RPR or RE roles
- Experience with CMAR, Design-Build, and Design-Bid-Build delivery methods
- Knowledge of current state and federal environmental laws affecting design/construction
- Experience with construction management, cost estimation, and scheduling software
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Leadership ability to coach and mentor staff
- valid driving license and clean driving record
- CMP certification is desirable but not required
- BS/BA in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred but not required
