Overview As a Senior Estimator you will lead multi-discipline cost estimates and schedules for large infrastructure projects. You'll coordinate estimators, manage design-stage estimates, and drive cost and schedule quality across hydroelectric and electrical infrastructure initiatives. You'll work with a cross-functional team to deliver defensible estimates for projects ranging from small to multi-billion-dollar programs. This role combines leadership, technical depth, and client-facing collaboration to advance Stantec's clean energy and utility objectives.

Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate development of multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules
- Collaborate with other estimators to produce integrated cost estimates and schedules
- Develop detailed estimates for generators, substations, transmission and distribution systems, and related facilities
- Coordinate input parameters, validate material takeoffs, and compile information across disciplines
- Create estimate execution plans with strategy, scope, methodologies, staffing, and timelines
- Prepare labor-force work plans and basis of cost estimate reports
- Establish site-specific estimating criteria and productivity rates
- Perform quality control of design documents and contribute innovative solutions
- Support procurement, quotations, and pricing activities; assist with changes and claims
- Prepare construction logistics plans and interface with management and clients
- Identify, assess, and quantify project risks and opportunities; contribute to risk analyses
- Lead constructability reviews and serve as primary cost estimating point of contact with clients and stakeholders
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and apply lessons learned to improve estimate quality and competitiveness
Key requirements- Extensive knowledge of cost estimating, construction practices, and engineering design
- Experience estimating hydroelectric, utility, renewable energy, or power infrastructure projects
- Expertise in hydroelectric facilities, substations, switchyards, protection and control systems, SCADA, and electrical balance-of-plant
- Experience with multiple databased estimating platforms (e.g., InEight, Sage Timberline, On-Screen Take-Off, MCASES MII, IPE, HCSS)
- Experience with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project)
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for site work
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, Business Management, or related field
