Overview Join Withers' LA family law team to handle contentious and non-contentious matters for a diverse client base. You will manage complex divorce financial disputes, draft and negotiate marital agreements, and represent clients in child custody matters, including cross-border issues. Your work supports a globally connected practice with strong collaboration across private client, tax, and trust specialties. Responsibilities- Handle both contentious and non-contentious family law matters in LA
- Manage divorce cases with complex financial disputes and property division
- Draft, review, and negotiate prenuptial, postnuptial, and cohabitation agreements
- Represent clients in child custody and visitation matters, including paternity
- Advise on child support, adoption, guardianship, and parental rights
- Navigate international family law issues and cross-border asset division
- Prepare and file court pleadings, motions, and other documents
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on family law changes
- Contribute to business development through writing, events, and networking with private wealth contacts
Key requirements- J.D. required
- 3-6 years of experience in a law firm's family law group
- California Bar membership in good standing
- Ability to work as an integrated member of the family law team
- Proven ability to manage a busy practice with proactive deadline and matter management
