Overview In this role you will lead analytics-driven improvement of care processes to boost outcomes, satisfaction, and cost efficiency. You will oversee the design and governance of dashboards that serve as a single source of truth for actionable insights, partnering with clinicians and leaders to drive data-driven decisions. You'll architect scalable analytics solutions, guide transformative projects, and coach teams to sustain performance post-implementation. You will build strategic relationships across physicians, nurses, and administrators to enable ongoing change and value realization. This role combines hands-on data science with cross-functional leadership to strengthen USC's analytics tilt.
Responsibilities- Design, develop and optimize management tools driven by clinical and business requirements to improve value and align with goals
- Develop solutions to embed and extract patient information from health information systems for quality and operations initiatives
- Provide data science expertise to support data-driven decision making
- Produce meaningful, actionable insights on clinical operations performance using evidence-based KPIs
- Lead cost modeling, capacity planning and related services for daily operations and program growth
- Oversee reporting frameworks, automation and governance ensuring data quality and scalability
- Foster collaborative relationships with physicians, administrators and frontline staff to aid data understanding and improvement
- Lead projects with detailed plans, timelines and resources; manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance
- Mentor and review team deliverables for high-quality outputs aligned with priorities
- Develop ROI calculations to measure project impact
- Prepare performance reports and manage data collection and entry processes
- Apply advanced statistical and ML techniques to analyze data and support decision making
- Communicate technical insights to non-technical audiences and socialise tools across the health system
- Ensure compliance and governance of data and reporting practices
- Perform related duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer engineering, or data science
- 3-5 years in business/data analytics, healthcare analytics or related field
- 1-2 years in a lead/senior role
- Working knowledge of back-end databases, spreadsheets, statistical software, data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlikview, Qliksense, Power BI)
- Knowledge of operational, clinical and financial statistics and data analysis techniques
- Expert knowledge in Python, R, and/or SQL
- Ability to derive clinical and operational insights from health systems data
- Strong analytical thinking and problem solving
- Demonstrated leadership in building partnerships and leading process improvement
- Good understanding of BI tools and user-centered design principles
