Overview

In this role you guide and grow a team of building consultants within McKinstry's Technical Services Southeast division, delivering energy and facilities optimization across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. You lead technical delivery on facilities management, energy efficiency, and commissioning projects, partnering with sales to craft customer solutions. You ensure high-quality outcomes while pursuing financial targets and client satisfaction. You will have opportunities to mentor engineers and potentially assume people-leadership responsibilities, all within a mission-driven, collaborative culture that aims to reduce climate impact in the built environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning and delivery across facilities management, energy efficiency, and commissioning programs
  • Provide technical guidance and QA/QC to project teams to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Partner with Business Development to develop scope, pricing, and proposals for clients
  • Participate as a technical leader and subject-matter expert on energy efficiency solutions
  • Support training of junior engineers in building operations and energy measures
  • Potentially assume people management responsibilities in the future
Key requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Highly proficient in facility operations and/or HVAC systems
  • Experience presenting to clients and key decision-makers
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents (drawings, specs, controls)
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems preferred
  • Credentials in engineering or building management (PE, FMP, CFM, LEED AP, etc.) preferred
  • Strong communication and teaming skills
  • Experience with energy efficiency and commissioning
  • Knowledge of monitoring-based commissioning (MBCx) and data analytics would be a plus
