Overview In this role you will lead Technical SETA activities supporting DARPA's Biological Technologies Office. You will oversee program management, risk analysis, and IV&V coordination, interfacing with DoD and interagency partners to enable transition. You will prepare briefing materials and assess performer progress, driving technical excellence across multidisciplinary biology and related fields. This is a mission-driven role at the intersection of biology and technology, offering impact on national security through breakthrough biotechnology.
Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate Technical SETA activities for the contract
- Support DARPA PM with project management, risk analysis, and programmatic oversight
- Coordinate IV&V activities with performers and DARPA
- Lead meetings, track performer technical progress, and forecast outcomes
- Develop point papers, slide decks, and status reports to communicate program needs and significance
- Research biological and biotechnological problem sets aligned with National Security priorities
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices across performers
- Facilitate coordination with DoD and interagency partners for transition
- Oversee research program leadership at performer level across multidisciplinary fields
Key requirements- DoD Secret clearance (ability to obtain/maintain)
- PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Synthetic Biology, or closely related field
- 3+ years in a research or technical advisory capacity
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly and lead multidisciplinary research programs at the performer level
