Overview As an established Los Angeles firm, you will join as a Commercial/Business Litigation Attorney spanning complex disputes such as breach of contract, business torts, and partnership/shareholder issues. In hybrid or remote capacity, you will represent companies, owners, executives, and investors and manage cases from start to resolution. You'll draft pleadings, motions, and settlement documents, and advocate at depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Responsibilities- Manage a diverse caseload involving complex commercial and business disputes
- Represent businesses, owners, executives, shareholders, partners, and investors in litigation matters
- Handle breach of contract claims, business torts, partnership and shareholder disputes, unfair competition claims, and related commercial matters
- Develop litigation strategies aligned with each client's legal, financial, and business objectives
- Draft complaints, answers, motions, briefs, discovery requests, discovery responses, legal memoranda, and settlement documents
- Conduct and defend depositions and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Perform legal research and provide clear recommendations regarding litigation risks, strategy, and potential outcomes
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case developments, litigation budgets, legal strategy, and resolution options
- Negotiate favorable settlements and pursue efficient, business-focused resolutions when appropriate
- Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, experts, and support professionals
- Maintain accurate time entries and meet the firm's 1,550 annual billable-hour requirement
Key requirements- Active and in-good-standing California State Bar
- 5+ years of substantive commercial and business litigation experience
- Strong knowledge of California civil procedure, court rules, discovery requirements, and litigation practices
- Experience handling breach of contract claims, business torts, partnership disputes, shareholder disputes, and other complex commercial matters
- Ability to independently manage cases from initial assessment through settlement, arbitration, or trial
- Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery, legal memoranda, briefs, and settlement agreements
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines while delivering practical and responsive client service
- Deposition, mediation, arbitration, courtroom, and trial experience preferred
