Overview In this role you will support the Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine in delivering comprehensive athletic training services for Football and other teams. You will help supervise the Athletic Training Room, coordinate care with team physicians, and manage exams, records, and inventory. You provide first aid and emergency care at events and supervise student trainers, contributing to safe, compliant athletic programs. This position supports a university athletics program by ensuring athlete well being and adherence to NCAA and institutional rules.
Responsibilities- Assist supervision of the Athletic Training Room
- Coordinate health care with team physicians
- Report injured student athletes status to coaching staff
- Assist with student-athlete physical exams and testing scheduling
- Provide first aid and emergency care
- Provide coverage for home and away events
- Maintain medical and insurance records
- Maintain inventory and supplies
- Recruit and supervise student trainers
- May include teaching duties
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Current BOC certification
- Current Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Athletic Training Licensure (or eligible for licensure)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in providing athletic training services
