Overview As a Construction Superintendent, you ensure safe, on-budget, high-quality project completion that meets client expectations. You lead safety and quality programs, plan and monitor job progress, and coordinate a diverse team of craft workers and subcontractors. You drive site planning, scheduling, and cost control while maintaining strong owner relations. Responsibilities- Drive job safety and enforce safety policies across the project
- Oversee quality control for company and subcontractors; address recurring issues with leadership
- Develop and adjust pre-job plans; create material handling and site utilization plans
- Participate in scheduling to ensure alignment with plans
- Complete mobilization tasks from pre-job planning
- Coordinate and supervise all Company workforces; hire/fire hourly personnel; mentor foremen
- Develop Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, Engineers, Foremen and craft personnel
- Lead salaried staff performance planning, feedback, and evaluations; support promotions/transfers/terminations
- Recruit salaried personnel as needed
- Schedule all subcontractors; conduct weekly meetings with subcontractors' Foremen
- Create method-specific forms to improve efficiency
- Maintain timekeeping and cost records; monitor labor and cost control to keep on budget
- Expedite vendors/subcontractors; leverage Construction Manager for major issues
- Inspect received materials; ensure proper documentation and coding
- Review equipment needs with Project Manager and Superintendents; prioritize company equipment; rent when necessary
- Participate in owner/architect/contractor meetings; communicate schedule changes and conflicts
- Foster favorable relations with customers and neighbors to meet special requirements
- Maintain project logs
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business
- 7+ years of construction-related experience with leadership and management
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work in a high-performance team
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, facilities operations, and building systems
- Familiarity with strategic planning
- Ability to work in a mobile environment
- Software proficiency in MS Office 365 (Excel, Project, Word, SharePoint) and Adobe Suite; plus report writing
