Overview

In this role you ensure secure, compliant systems for defense-grade operations. You will implement and maintain security controls aligned with DoD standards, working with cross-functional teams to minimize risk. You'll manage security monitoring, incident response, and policy baselines to support mission-critical systems. This position offers impact by shaping security posture across Linux and Windows environments at scale. You will engage with leadership to advance security initiatives and stay ahead of threats.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain security hardening per DoD STIGs and best practices
  • Analyze remediation results, prioritize patches for Linux and Windows hosts
  • Configure and maintain Splunk dashboards and security alerts
  • Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analysis
  • Ensure systems meet DoD STIG requirements and maintain compliance records
  • Produce and update security policies, procedures, and baselines
  • Collaborate with system owners, network engineers, and leadership to align security with business objectives
  • Provide guidance on security best practices and emerging threats
  • Maintain security tools with patching and compliant configurations
  • Evaluate new security technologies and enhancements to security posture
  • Conduct periodic security scanning and configuration analyses
Key requirements
  • Active SECRET clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • 3+ years of system administration on RHEL 7/8/9 and Windows Server 2019/2025
  • Hands-on experience with at least two of: HBSS, Nessus, SCAP, Splunk, Ansible
  • Direct experience applying DoD STIGs to Linux and Windows
  • Proven ability to patch, update, and harden Linux and Windows systems and tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Autonomous work style
