Overview As a Senior Architect at Gresham Smith in the Detroit metro area, you will lead design efforts for large industrial, manufacturing, and commercial projects. You'll manage design phases, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and oversee production drawings and specifications from programming through construction administration. You'll apply materials research and detailing to deliver functional, aesthetic solutions at scale, while shaping projects that benefit communities. Responsibilities- Lead work across design phases: programming, schematic design, design development, and construction documents
- Coordinate with project team and consultants; review submittals and RFIs
- Plan, schedule, and deliver projects from initial programming to construction administration
- Develop and review production drawings and project narratives/specifications
- Research materials and methods to meet project functionality and aesthetics
- Monitor project health and propose architectural solutions to issues
Key requirements- Architecture degree (Bachelor or Master) with 15+ years of design experience
- Current state architectural license
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Photoshop
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Word and Excel; valid driver's license for site visits
- Experience with industrial, distribution, or manufacturing facility design preferred
