Overview In this Category Manager role you drive strategic sourcing for assigned procurement categories to support cost, quality, and delivery objectives across multiple sites. You will partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers to create and execute category strategies that align with company goals and sustainability initiatives. You'll lead multi-year supplier relationships, deploy projects, and push continuous improvements to optimize value and risk. Responsibilities- Create and implement category strategies to optimize cost, quality and delivery
- Oversee complex multi-year supplier relationships aligned with portfolio strategies
- Plan and manage strategic sourcing activities across BU products and other commodities, coordinating with supply, engineering, product management, and operations
- Facilitate cross-functional brainstorming at facilities to identify strategic commodities and cost-saving priorities
- Provide guidance to sourcing/project managers on project deployment with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and qualify strategic suppliers and coordinate global material cost savings
- Drive spend analysis and corrective actions to keep plans on track
- Understand total cost of ownership and drive process improvements and innovation
- Lead RFP/RFQ processes and supplier selection, negotiate and draft supply agreements
- Analyze market conditions and prepare reports on material availability and pricing trends
- Report on KPIs and present Strategic Sourcing plans and progress
Key requirements- BA or BS degree in Engineering or Supply Chain (or related field)
- At least 5 years of Category Manager experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Proven track record of strategic supplier engagement
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally ( 25%)
- Experience sourcing in low-cost regions and working with multiple global locations
