Overview As Counsel in AES Renewables & Power, you will guide renewable project development and financing, focusing on solar, storage, and wind assets. You will serve as internal counsel on tax equity, tax credit transfers, and debt financings, while supporting corporate finance matters. You will structure, draft, and negotiate project financing and related contracts, coordinating closings with internal and outside counsel. You will provide strategic legal guidance to senior management, helping AES scale its renewable portfolio and solidify its leadership in clean energy.

Responsibilities- Support renewable project development and financing for solar, solar+storage, storage, and wind projects
- Serve as internal counsel on tax equity, tax credit transfer and debt financings; assist with corporate financings
- Structure, draft, review, and negotiate financing transactions and project documents (PPA, EPC, construction contracts)
- Coordinate closings with AES teams and outside counsel
- Engage and manage outside counsel effectively
- Provide general legal counsel and strategic guidance to senior/executive management
Key requirements- 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably at a major law firm or sophisticated in-house group
- Experience in renewable energy project finance, development, and project-related documentation
