Overview

In this role you lead field management on complex, multi-million dollar infrastructure projects, ensuring conformance with contracts, schedules, and safety. You guide project teams, interface with clients and design professionals, and drive timely submittals, change orders, and cost control. You will shape delivery using HNTB's sophisticated delivery methods while mentoring staff and pursuing mega-project opportunities. This is a client-focused, leadership-heavy position that shapes large-scale construction outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead field management and coordination on complex projects typically $10M+ in construction value
  • Monitor staff activities for contractual conformance and provide technical leadership
  • Review drawings, specs, and installation procedures for constructability and may recommend design changes
  • Represent projects at meetings and contribute to proposals and client relations
  • Oversee project controls, schedules, and submittals to meet schedule requirements
  • Develop and execute project management plans and delivery strategies (SDA/SCA) and mentor team
  • Prepare change orders, estimates, and negotiate costs; enforce contract plans and specifications
  • Support business development with client relationships and pursuit activities for mini-mega/mega projects
  • Recruit, hire, and develop construction staff and plan succession where applicable
  • Manage risk, quality control, and non-compliant work resolution
  • Utilize external tools to manage mid-sized/moderately complex projects
  • Lead with minimal supervision using firm processes on projects
  • Serve as lead client interface on moderately complex projects
  • Collaborate with architects/engineers for timely RFI responses
  • Lead proposal development and presentations for strategic projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 10 years of construction-related experience
  • All jurisdictional certificates
