Overview In this role you will lead cost management for a large-scale data center program, acting as the primary client interface. You will drive cost governance, change management, and commercial performance across a fast-paced campus environment. You will collaborate with design teams, general contractors, and multiple stakeholders to ensure cost transparency and informed decision-making. Responsibilities- Lead change management across the program with proper identification, evaluation, documentation, and approvals
- Review and negotiate change orders ensuring commercial alignment and cost transparency
- Maintain change logs, contingency tracking, and commitment registers to expose cost impacts
- Establish governance frameworks and change control across projects within the campus
- Provide cost analysis and recommendations to support client decisions on change events
- Support dispute avoidance through strong commercial oversight and documentation of changes
- Produce cost plans and estimates; present final cost plans
- Review cost estimates with design teams and general contractor; reconcile changes and validate contractor data
- Coordinate cost inputs from subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams
- Prepare comments on contractor submissions and executive summaries
- Inform project teams of cost impacts and drive construction priorities
- Resolve cost, scope, and scheduling conflicts; manage validations and valuations
- Lead post-contract cost variance analysis and ensure change control adherence
- Support funding updates and value engineering sessions related to change drivers
- Develop cost plans through design milestones and update at key points
- Review contractor pricing and support negotiations for fair outcomes
- Ensure cost auditing, validation, and reporting practices are applied
- Produce monthly cost reports highlighting change activity, risks, and forecasts
- Support final account closeout with fully reconciled changes
- Maintain benchmarking data and records to aid forecasting
- Mentor team members and promote best practices in change management and cost control
- Manage financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting for commissions
- Support internal systems, governance processes, and delivery methodologies
- SOX control responsibilities may apply where relevant
Key requirements- Bachelor in Construction Management
- Minimum 5-7 years in cost management within the construction industry
- Experience with change management, change order negotiation, and cost control on complex projects
- Experience leading cost management on medium to large, high-complexity projects
- Experience in data center, industrial, or large campus developments preferred
- Construction consultancy experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial management, procurement routes, and value engineering
- Proven ability to manage high volumes of change in fast-paced environments
