Category Manager (Furniture Flooring & Equip)

Job description

Overview

In this role you will lead the central management of America's Construction Services categories (FF&E and Moving), building strategies and supplier ecosystems to deliver value and cost efficiency. You will support PDS Sourcing & Procurement and help design a roadmap for global category management and supplier relationships. You'll drive procurement transformation to integrate building and construction into the company's category framework. You will work with cross-functional teams to enable strategic outcomes and client solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain short- to long-term category strategies aligned with business goals
  • Manage category performance and deliver financial targets
  • Identify cost and operational efficiencies through strategic thinking
  • Create strategic solutions for commodity requirements and manage RFPs/quotations
  • Negotiate contracting strategies and terms for assigned spend
  • Rationalize the supply base and manage supplier relationships at senior levels
  • Utilize SRM tools to monitor performance and resolve issues
  • Analyze data to inform strategy, risks and market insights
  • Support PDS-related sourcing initiatives and education efforts
  • Develop and implement policies and governance, monitoring stakeholder expectations
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of procurement experience
  • Construction category experience is a plus
  • MBA a plus
  • Strong contract knowledge and negotiation skills
  • Expertise in supplier relationship management and working with senior executives
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical abilities
  • Strong communication skills, collaborative and influencing style
  • Ability to operate regionally across time zones and handle large data sets
  • Proficiency with MS applications and learning new technologies
