Overview In this role you will define and lead the enterprise API strategy and governance, shaping how APIs become enterprise products. You will design and evolve API and integration architectures to enable data sharing and digital transformation across cloud, SaaS, and on prem systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive secure, scalable API ecosystems and reusable patterns that accelerate innovation. This is a high-impact, enterprise scale role in a hybrid Washington, DC setting with a focus on modernization and interoperability.

Responsibilities- Define and lead the enterprise API strategy, architecture, and governance framework
- Design, implement, and evolve APIs and integration solutions (MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and modern API management platforms)
- Champion API-led connectivity, reusable integration patterns, and secure, scalable ecosystems
- Collaborate with application development, data engineering, cloud, and security teams to treat APIs as enterprise products
- Enable digital products, data sharing, and enterprise integration across cloud, SaaS, and on prem systems
- Support digital transformation initiatives and improve interoperability across the organization
- Promote scalability, security, and governance in API programs
- Contribute to cross-functional implementation efforts through architecture leadership
Key requirements- Deep MuleSoft Anypoint Platform architecture and implementation (7+ years)
- Strong knowledge of API security standards and identity protocols
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native architectures
- Hands-on experience integrating SaaS platforms, enterprise systems, and cloud services (10+ years)
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- 5+ years working with enterprise API platforms or comparable API management platforms
- Experience with DevOps pipelines and automated API testing frameworks
- 10+ years of software, integration, or API architecture experience
