Overview

In this IT-focused Category Manager role, you will lead strategic sourcing and procurement for IT goods and services, aiming to maximize cost efficiency and supplier performance. You will work closely with IT business lines to shape and execute supplier relationship and performance management. You will implement short, medium, and long-term procurement strategies in line with internal policies, balancing business impact with technical considerations. This role offers the opportunity to influence IT spend, vendor strategy, and service quality across the organization. You will operate in a cross-functional environment, driving innovation and continuous improvement in the supplier network.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for IT categories (hardware, software, cloud, telecom)
  • Perform global, regional, and country market research to identify savings and quality gains
  • Set category goals aligned with company objectives and track performance
  • Collaborate with procurement partners and service lines to align category vision with priorities
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage IT vendors and contracts, ensuring policy compliance
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct reviews to ensure alignment with business needs
  • Analyze 3rd party spend data to drive insights and value
  • Communicate supplier metrics and foster adoption of the preferred supplier network
  • Identify and mitigate IT supply chain risks, including cybersecurity and compliance
  • Lead continuous improvement and change management for the preferred supplier program
Key requirements
  • 5-8 years of category management experience
  • In-depth IT procurement knowledge and IT-specific category expertise
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytics skills
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and vendors
  • Problem-solving, independent work style, and goal orientation
  • Experience with data mining and supplier risk management
