Overview

As Senior Architect - Healthcare, you lead the architectural delivery of complex healthcare projects, guiding design teams from planning through construction. You partner with project managers and design leaders to ensure design excellence, regulatory alignment, and timely delivery. You influence client relationships, consultant coordination, and mentoring within the healthcare studio. This role blends design leadership with technical oversight to shape high-impact healthcare environments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead architectural delivery on medium to large healthcare projects, aligning with goals, budget, schedule, and codes
  • Provide design and technical leadership across all project phases from pre-design to close-out
  • Champion design excellence and healthcare standards while fostering innovation
  • Direct and review BIM-based design and documentation for accuracy and intent
  • Lead design critiques, technical reviews, and constructability assessments
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and owners to resolve complex challenges
  • Evaluate building systems and materials suitable for healthcare settings
  • Ensure accessibility, life-safety, and code integration in designs
  • Maintain design intent through documentation and construction
  • Support sustainable design strategies for healthcare facilities
  • Engage in programming, site analysis, and early planning as needed
  • Mentor and support architects and designers in the healthcare studio
Key requirements
  • Licensed Architect in Texas
  • Minimum 7 years of experience, preferably on large teams with healthcare or institutional clients
  • Advanced BIM workflows proficiency; Revit experience explicitly required
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, visual) and client-facing presentation skills
  • Ability to lead large teams with multiple consultants on complex projects
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare building systems, constructability, materials, and standards
  • Experience applying accessibility, building, and life-safety codes to healthcare projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Newforma, and Bluebeam
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Valid driver's license
