Overview As a Senior Estimator at Stantec, you lead the development and coordination of large, multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules for major infrastructure programs. You'll supervise discipline estimators, align estimates with design milestones, and drive value through risk and constructability insights. The role sits within a collaborative estimating group that supports complex projects worldwide, with opportunities to influence project scope, pricing defensibility, and schedule outcomes. You'll work with cross-functional teams to deliver competitive, well-supported estimates that enable project success.

Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules
- Coordinate input parameters and ensure alignment across estimating disciplines
- Validate material takeoffs and construction quantities from drawings
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates by consolidating inputs from all disciplines
- Develop and document estimate execution plans including strategy, scope, methodologies, staffing, and schedules
- Create labor-work plans and basis of estimate deliverables
- Set site-specific estimating criteria including wage and productivity rates
- Perform quality control on documents and propose design improvements
- Support procurement and supplier pricing activities and incorporate quotations into estimates
- Coordinate constructability reviews and interface with clients and stakeholders
- Identify and quantify project risks and opportunities and contribute to risk analyses
- Review designs to identify risks/opportunities for competitive pricing
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and improve estimate quality and efficiency
- Serve as primary cost estimating contact for clients and external stakeholders
- Mentor estimating team members in techniques and methodologies
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of estimating/construction experience
- Field experience on major infrastructure or waterfront projects
- Experience with heavy civil disciplines (earthwork, deep foundations, waterfront structures, bridges)
- Advanced understanding of contract methods and applicability to estimating
- Proficiency with Sage Timberline Estimating, On-Screen Take-Off, MCASES MII, IPE, HCSS or other estimating platforms
- Experience with scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project)
- Ability to travel for site reconnaissance and client interfacing
- Experience collaborating with other estimators to develop comprehensive estimates
