Overview

In this role you will secure and maintain profitable property insurance business by designing tailored risk solutions in collaboration with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders. You'll assess risk pricing by considering risk costs, reinsurance cessions, and underwriting costs to ensure profitability, and you'll seek cross-selling opportunities. You will manage new and renewal accounts, endorsements, and invoicing, and support clients with risk management and queries. You'll foster client relationships and share underwriting knowledge within the team, reporting to a senior West Region underwriter.

Responsibilities
  • Develop tailor-made solutions guided by underwriting guidelines and policies
  • Evaluate risk premium considering risk costs, reinsurance cessions, and administration costs
  • Initiate opportunities for cross-selling
  • Ensure timely implementation of new and renewal accounts (policy and invoicing)
  • Monitor premium collection and take action as needed
  • Advise and service clients on insurance and risk management; respond to queries promptly
  • Oversee policy endorsements and hand-over for implementation
  • Share underwriting best practices within the team
  • Foster positive client relationships to understand needs better
Key requirements
  • Property underwriting experience with solid knowledge of underwriting, rating methodologies, forms, and processes
  • Basic understanding of global and domestic property underwriting
  • Large account experience and HPR background a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; CPCU or ARM a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills
