Overview In this Lead Consultant role, you will lead environmental due diligence and compliance work to support M&A transactions, helping clients navigate complex sites and regulatory requirements. You'll work within Ramboll's Due Diligence team to deliver Phase I ESAs and assess environmental risks, contributing to post transaction integration and client-focused solutions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold quality, manage multiple projects, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities- Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and environmental compliance reviews for industrial sites to support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and other transactions
- Perform desktop reviews, site visits, management interviews, and historical data reviews to prepare reports aligned with ASTM or client-specific formats
- Provide general environmental compliance support across regulatory areas such as hazardous waste, wastewater/stormwater, air emissions, EPCRA, and related state/local rules
- Coordinate travel for site visits and manage scheduling to meet project needs
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables
- Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and the development of junior team members
- Assist with post-transaction integration efforts and knowledge transfer to clients
Key requirements- 7+ years of experience in Phase I ESAs and environmental compliance reviews for various industrial facilities
- Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or Bachelor of Science/Arts in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, or Biology
- Travel ability; valid driver's license; willingness to travel 1-2 day trips domestically
- Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to distill complex environmental, health and safety issues for clients
- Experience with investigation and remediation of contaminated sites and familiarity with ESG topics is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced transactional environment and manage multiple tasks
