Automotive Technical Training Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead a dispersed team of on-site and remote automotive instructors to deliver high-impact training across in-person and virtual formats. You'll own talent acquisition, performance, supplier relations, and budgets to ensure consistent, high-quality training. You will drive operational excellence, facility readiness, and strategic planning to scale programs and meet evolving automotive technology needs. Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a geographically dispersed instructor workforce across delivery formats
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard instructors to meet business needs
  • Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and implement development plans
  • Oversee virtual and in-person training operations across multiple sites
  • Use data-driven analysis for workforce allocation and deployment
  • Establish and enforce operational standards for training quality
  • Ensure facility readiness, safety compliance, and equipment maintenance
  • Manage external suppliers and contract deliverables
  • Own the operating budget for training delivery and related assets
  • Forecast capacity, plan technology investments, and support curriculum alignment
  • Drive readiness for scaling programs and future capabilities
Key requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of automotive technician experience in a repair facility
  • Minimum 6 years delivering both virtual and in-person instructor-led training
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing performance, including remote staff
  • Strong background in technical training operations, virtual delivery platforms, and LM systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities in multi-site environments
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced settings
