Senior Project Manager (Mechanical Construction)

Overview

In this role, you lead mechanical construction projects from concept to closeout, applying deep mechanical expertise and strong PM practices. You'll collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to meet timelines, budgets, and safety standards. You solve complex coordination and quality challenges while delivering value to clients. You will mentor junior staff and drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical engineering projects with strict adherence to timelines, budgets, and specs
  • Oversee design, development, and implementation of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and sheet metal systems
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to satisfy requirements
  • Develop and manage schedules, budgets, and financial forecasts including billing/invoicing
  • Conduct site inspections and quality control to ensure regulatory and industry compliance
  • Act as primary client and stakeholder contact, providing updates and resolving issues
  • Prepare milestone, financial, and resource allocation reports
  • Mentor and lead junior project staff to foster collaboration and efficiency
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in mechanical project management within commercial construction, healthcare, or data center projects
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, plumbing, and sheet metal systems
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools
  • Experience with financial management, billing, and invoicing in construction projects
