Water/Wastewater Project Technical Lead

Overview

In this role you lead technical solutions for water and wastewater projects within Stantec's Sacramento Water practice, guiding multi-disciplinary teams to deliver treatment and conveyance infrastructure. You'll manage projects from pursuit through construction, including planning, design, and owner coordination, while promoting innovation and client service. The position offers leadership growth and a path to becoming a recognized technical resource in California water.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership for innovative water/wastewater solutions
  • Manage water, recycled water, and wastewater projects through design-bid-build and alternate delivery methods
  • Direct and coordinate multiple disciplines across project teams
  • Develop reports, planning studies, specifications, calculations, design drawings, and construction submittals
  • Communicate with clients during planning, design, and construction
  • Support innovation and research through conferences and academic partnerships
  • Promote project-delivery structure with Project Managers, PTLs, and Discipline Sector Leads
  • Coordinate marketing and project delivery activities with leadership and PMs
  • Meet client needs and align with project teams on technical solutions
  • Mentor young professionals and emphasize safety procedures
Key requirements
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on water/wastewater design, planning, or construction
  • Experience with collaborative delivery projects involving contractors and vendors
  • Strong client service, project management, and design management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Passion for teamwork, collaboration, and mentoring
  • Strong technical skills with at least one area of specialized expertise
  • Ability to manage budgets and quality management for projects
