Overview

In this role, you investigate, evaluate, reserve, negotiate, and resolve General Liability claims, focusing on bodily injury and property damage. You'll support quality claim handling across the lifecycle, ensure compliance, and act as a technical resource for field partners. You'll manage complex claims, engage internal and external experts, and influence outcomes through strategy and negotiation. The position offers opportunity to mentor peers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a customer-centric, high-performance culture. Responsibilities
  • Directly handle assigned severe claims
  • Provide timely coverage analysis and customer communication
  • Investigate claims with policyholders, witnesses, and experts
  • Coordinate internal/external resources (Subrogation, Risk Control, nurses, investigators)
  • Manage litigation plans, discovery, and legal expenses
  • Negotiate settlements and manage litigation processes
  • Maintain claim files and use CFA and diary systems for quality and timing
  • Mentor less experienced claim professionals and share best practices
  • Evaluate recovery potential and direct recovery efforts
  • Possibly obtain/maintain insurance licenses as required
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years bodily injury liability claim handling or comparable litigation experience
  • Strong negotiation and customer service skills
  • Solid understanding of policy language, ISO forms, and claims practices
  • Ability to independently decide on cases and manage complex claims
  • Intermediate communication and technical skills; familiarity with litigation processes
  • License requirements within three months if applicable
