Senior Risk Control Consultant, Field

Overview

In this role you partner with Underwriting to assess hazards and controls for high complex accounts, shaping risk decisions for a leading insurer. You will deliver technically detailed risk assessments and loss control recommendations that help clients reduce exposure. You'll work with cross functional teams to grow a profitable book of business and contribute to Travelers' risk control expertise and client experience. This is a high impact, field based position with opportunities to lead major projects and develop enterprise level solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Onsite field presence and client interaction (20-50% travel)
  • Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow profitable accounts
  • Build relationships with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers
  • Complete risk assessment evaluations for high complex, multi location, large exposure accounts (manufacturing, large warehouses, products liability, fleets)
  • Write detailed risk reports with clear recommendations
  • Identify uncontrolled exposures and drive corrective actions to mitigate loss
  • Provide loss analysis driven risk control solutions and stay current on regulations
  • Serve as subject matter expert in specialty areas (Fleet, Sprinkler Contractor, Inland Marine, Industrial Hygiene, Human Factors & Ergonomics)
  • Maintain core RCC responsibilities while handling higher level project work impacting RC organization or Travelers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Seven years of experience in safety, risk control/management or related fields
  • Valid driver's license
  • Certifications (ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS) or ability to obtain per state requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance industry and business acumen
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment
