Overview In this role you design, implement and oversee WAN, LAN and SDWAN infrastructure to improve reliability, security and user experience. You will guide network architecture and upgrades, translating business needs into concrete designs and solutions. You lead initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders and service providers to deliver on time and within budget. The position involves staying current with industry trends and ensuring secure, resilient network operations.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain WAN, LAN and SDWAN infrastructure with high availability, security and scalability
- Provide technical guidance on network architecture, upgrades and emerging technologies
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and implement solutions
- Lead network projects both as a leader and individual contributor
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and managed service providers to ensure requirements are met
- Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation (configurations, designs, standards, runbooks)
- Assist with incidents and escalations related to networking services or performance
- Ensure compliance with security and reliability standards and mitigate risks
- Produce and obtain peer review approvals for RoC (Record of Change) documents
- Obtain change management approvals via ServiceNow change requests with required details
- Stay current with industry trends and recommend improvements to enhance network capabilities
- Prepare operational readiness materials and hand off to operations centre management (SharePoint artefacts, runbooks)
- Work type: primarily remote with occasional travel (1-2 times per month)
Key requirements- Experienced senior US-based network engineer
- Ability to lead projects and deliver within scope and budget
- Experience with WAN, LAN and SDWAN technologies
- Strong documentation, change management and incident resolution skills
- Familiarity with security and reliability standards
- Experience with RoC documentation and peer reviews
- Experience with ServiceNow change management
- Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of SharePoint for artefact storage and handover
