Overview In this role you drive profitability and growth for a high-value property book by underwriting and negotiating complex accounts. You work closely with agents, brokers, and internal teams to craft tailored solutions that fit Travelers' risk appetite. You'll also support global underwriting capabilities and cross-functional sales planning, shaping a critical part of our National Property strategy. Responsibilities- Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business
- Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability
- Occasionally negotiate and procure reinsurance for complex accounts
- Facilitate foreign admitted policy placements and support global underwriting capabilities
- Cultivate relationships with internal partners to develop sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities
- Maintain relationships with external agents/brokers to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts within risk appetite
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities using consultative sales skills
- Develop and execute agency sales plans with MD-led regional or group plans
- May assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree; six to eight years of relevant underwriting experience with National Property
- Deep knowledge of property-related products, regulatory environment, and local insurance market
- Strong financial acumen and critical thinking to navigate underwriting and market challenges
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers
- CPCU designation
- Four years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience
