Overview In this role you partner with academic and administrative leaders to shape HR strategy and deliver end-to-end HR support that enhances the employee experience. You will serve as a trusted advisor, collaborating with senior leaders to drive organizational success and address workforce needs. The role blends strategic guidance with hands-on HR execution across core disciplines. You will contribute to a culture of engagement, learning, and continuous improvement at CMU.

Responsibilities- Assess and resolve employee relations matters and guide leaders on actions
- Coach managers on performance management, provide development and disciplinary guidance, lead performance review cycles
- Champion a positive, inclusive workplace culture and belonging
- Drive workforce planning by evaluating structures, skills, and capacity to support long-term goals
- Partner with Talent Acquisition on staffing, onboarding resources, and exit discussions
- Develop training programs and coaching to build manager and employee capabilities
- Leverage workforce analytics to deliver actionable insights and lead process improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- HRBP I: min 5 years HR experience including at least 1 year employee relations
- HRBP II: min 5 years HR experience including at least 3 years employee relations
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered
- Successful completion of a background check
- Authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship)
