Overview In this role, you drive R&D programs to strengthen the technical value of Tyvek nonwoven products. You translate manufacturing capabilities into differentiated product features and lead the full development lifecycle from concept to market introduction. You will build mechanistic understanding of product structure and performance, collaborating with global teams to scale processes and protect IP. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused position that blends science with strategic product direction in a world-class R&D setting.

Responsibilities- Define and lead R&D programs to enhance Tyvek nonwoven products' technical value
- Act as product technology focal point coordinating with Marketing, Product, and Application Leaders
- Design and execute flash-spinning experiments with new polymers and additives
- Formulate optimized ingredients and process conditions for new products
- Identify and develop new or enhanced lab and pilot-scale capabilities
- Apply fundamental science/engineering to guide product decisions
- Develop methods to monitor product performance across processing steps
- Build mechanistic understanding of product structure, properties, and performance
- Communicate findings via reports and presentations
- Create and manage IP for target markets
- Monitor regulatory and competitive landscape and craft technical responses
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams across disciplines
- Scale processes/products with manufacturing, engineering, and commercialization teams
- Sustain collaborations with partners, vendors, customers, and researchers
- Mentor and train early-career team members
- Language: English (required), German (preferred)
- Travel up to 25% as project needs require
Key requirements- Strong background in materials science, polymer science, chemistry or related engineering field
- Experience in flash-spinning or nonwoven technology
- Ability to design and interpret experiments and translate to product decisions
- Experience scaling processes from lab to pilot to production
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- IP development and strategic thinking
- Regulatory and competitive landscape awareness
- Mentorship or leadership experience
- Proficiency in technical reporting and presentations
- Fluency in English; German language skills preferred
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
