Overview In this role you drive the overall direction and coordination of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems on Austin Commercial projects. You will partner with owners, architects, and subcontractors to ensure constructability, code compliance, and on-time delivery. The position emphasizes leadership in MEP coordination, QA/QC, and occupancy-related inspections within a 100% employee-owned firm focused on safety, service, and integrity. You'll shape project outcomes through technical guidance and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities- Evaluate design complexity and estimate construction and maintenance costs
- Ensure constructability and code compatibility and coordinate with local inspectors
- Lead meetings with owners, architects, and subcontractors; outline scope and schedules
- Oversee timely submission and review of MEP shop drawings; ensure on-time equipment delivery
- Coordinate MEP scope across trades; manage space and constructability overlays
- Perform QA/QC checks for mechanical and electrical installations; verify rough-ins meet schedule
- Coordinate with city inspectors and fire department; manage occupancy-related processes
- Review change proposals for cost and schedule impact; resolve technical issues with the architect
- Liaise between owners, architects, and contractors across disciplines
- Review subcontractor pay requests for accuracy and timeliness
Key requirements- B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field
- 5-8 years of comparable MEP experience with GC or mechanical contractor
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training (must be completed or obtained within first year)
- Proficient in project management software
- Proficient with cost projection, scheduling, financial analysis, budget reviews and labor reports
- Ability to build and manage a high-performing team
