Aviation Section Manager - Construction

Overview

In this role, you lead the aviation construction project management team delivering complex airport capital programs. You drive growth, staffing, and performance while upholding safety, quality, and client service. You coordinate with airport authorities, airlines, regulators, and stakeholders to minimize operational impacts in active airport environments. You shape delivery strategies across planning, procurement, construction, and closeout to achieve project success and organizational goals. You will lead cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement in aviation programs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to aviation project managers
  • Oversee planning and execution of airport CIP and aviation projects
  • Ensure on-time delivery with safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives
  • Coordinate construction activities to minimize impacts on airport operations
  • Build and maintain client relationships with authorities, airlines, and agencies
  • Lead collaboration between engineering, construction, and client teams
  • Support project delivery strategies, risk management, and operational coordination in secure airport environments
  • Drive organizational change and continuous improvement within the section
  • Review project performance including schedules, budgets, and cash flow
  • Support business development and proposal activities
  • Ensure safety, quality, and readiness reviews of projects
  • Promote growth of the Aviation & Federal construction practice
Key requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or related field
  • 5 years of related professional experience in design and/or project management
  • Experience in aviation or airport construction preferred
  • Previous leadership or management experience preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to influence and manage change
  • Strong project management skills and strategic thinking
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Travel willingness (up to 25%)
