Overview In this role, you support Venable's New York Real Estate Group as a mid- to senior-level Construction Associate. You will advise owners and developers through all phases of commercial and residential construction, drafting and negotiating key agreements, and managing construction-related disputes outside arbitration and litigation. You will apply strong knowledge of construction law and the New York Lien Law, with opportunities to contribute to client education, business development, and mentoring junior associates. This role combines transactional work with advisory support in a premier firm setting.
Compensation / Benefits- salary range: $215,000 to $355,000

Responsibilities- Drafting and negotiating design, engineering, consulting, and construction agreements
- Preparing and negotiating right of entry/access and closeout agreements
- Advising clients on construction claims and disputes (outside arbitration/litigation)
- Providing guidance on construction-related issues and NY Lien Law
- Supporting development, acquisitions/dispositions, leasing, or financing transactions as applicable
- Mentoring junior associates and contributing to firm citizenship activities
- Participating in client education initiatives and business development presentations
Key requirements- Five+ years of law firm experience advising on construction projects
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and NY bar in good standing
- Solid understanding of construction case law and NY Lien Law
- Experience representing owners and developers in real estate construction projects
