Overview

In this role you lead field safety and construction oversight on environmental remediation and asset retirement projects. You act as Jacobs' primary field representative to implement HSE expectations while guiding multidisciplinary teams from planning to closeout. You'll mentor junior staff and ensure safe, compliant execution on upstream oil and gas sites. This position combines project delivery with a strong safety leadership element to protect people and the environment.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee construction subcontractor work to ensure compliance with design and specifications
  • Monitor progress against baseline schedule and update two-week lookaheads
  • Support change management through logging, cause evaluation, and communication of changes
  • Track waste management, spoil storage, erosion and stormwater controls
  • Document daily production and QA activities; maintain photo log
  • Identify and address deviations from subcontractor scope; ensure corrective action
  • Coordinate daily with subcontractor superintendent and Jacobs HSE Manager
  • Hold weekly calls with Jacobs management, client, and subcontractor; prepare for scheduled calls
  • HSE program implementation at site level; conduct inspections for regulatory compliance
  • Ensure subcontractors meet task-specific training and hazard controls; enforce hot work, respiratory protection, etc.
  • Lead tailgate safety meetings; assess field hazards and document controls; halt unsafe work and notify PM when needed
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of construction and safety leadership experience
  • Experience with major oil & gas operators or similar industrial clients
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction certification
  • OSHA 500/510, CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or equivalent credentials preferred
  • Experience managing safety performance across multiple subcontractors
  • Knowledge of excavation, lifting operations, heavy equipment, energy isolation, hot work, confined space, line-of-fire hazards
