Overview As a Principal/Senior Principal Consultant, you will lead growth and client leadership in Orange County and beyond, guiding high-performing teams to deliver innovative environmental solutions. You'll combine seller-doer capabilities to win work, expand relationships, and drive revenue while ensuring project execution excellence. You'll act as a trusted advisor to clients, shape multi-disciplinary projects, and represent the firm at industry events to raise market visibility. This role offers leadership development and the chance to influence the direction of the Orange County practice.

Responsibilities- Develop and expand client relationships across Orange County and Southern California
- Identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities aligned with growth objectives
- Lead proposal development, presentations, interviews, and contract negotiations
- Meet annual sales, revenue growth, and backlog targets through proactive BD
- Represent the firm at industry conferences and community events to generate leads
- Collaborate with regional/national practice leaders on strategic opportunities and key accounts
- Provide strategic guidance and technical solutions to clients
- Deliver projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
- Mentor project managers, staff, and emerging leaders
- Review major deliverables and regulatory submissions for technical excellence
- Support innovative environmental, regulatory, redevelopment, and sustainability solutions
- Mentor and develop staff; support recruitment, retention, and succession planning in OC practice
- Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, quality, and client service excellence
- Build and lead multi-disciplinary teams for strategic projects
- Maintain accountability for project profitability and financial performance
- Support annual planning, forecasting, and budgeting; monitor key metrics
- Collaborate with operations leadership to achieve revenue, backlog, and margin goals
Key requirements- Proven seller-doer with ability to generate revenue and grow client relationships
- Established network within Orange County/Southern California
- Strong knowledge of environmental consulting, regulatory compliance, due diligence, remediation, redevelopment, and infrastructure projects
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and business development skills
- Proven experience leading large, complex, multi-disciplinary projects
- Experience managing projects/portfolios with capital expenditures > $4-10M
- Extensive experience with public sector/client work and regulatory jurisdictions
