Overview In this role you will shape AXA XL's Programs portfolio by leading early evaluation and triage of new submissions, ensuring alignment with underwriting appetite and portfolio objectives. You'll manage portfolio strategy, capacity deployment, and market engagement to steer capital toward high return opportunities. You'll translate external opportunities into concise internal business cases and partner with underwriting, actuarial, and leadership to drive disciplined decision making. This position sits at the center of market-facing activity and underwriting governance to sustain long term portfolio quality and strategic coherence.

Responsibilities- Lead initial evaluation and triage for new program submissions as the central gatekeeper
- Assess strategic fit, underwriting quality, structure, and economics against portfolio needs
- Identify key risks and diligence priorities; create 1-2 page evaluation memos and deal snapshots
- Maintain portfolio oversight through capacity deployment and risk/return framing
- Drive market engagement and targeted origination aligned to priority segments
- Frame external opportunities into concise internal business cases; align with underwriting leadership
- Track pipeline metrics and provide forward-looking insights beyond simple reporting
- Develop market intelligence and strategic insights to refine appetite and portfolio positioning
- Ensure governance, transparency, and disciplined assessment for all opportunities
Key requirements- Robust experience across Programs, delegated authority, underwriting, or portfolio management
- Understanding of MGA/program economics, structures, and risk drivers
- Experience assessing underwriting quality and structural risk at a portfolio level
- Background in underwriting, program management, or strategy within a carrier, MGA, or broker
- Established market relationships preferred, but judgment depth prioritized
- Strong portfolio mindset to evaluate deals in a broader strategic context
- Excellent triage, prioritization, and structured decision-making
- Ability to synthesize complex factors into clear recommendations
