Overview In this role, you will lead the Rooms division for NoMad Detroit, aligning Front Office, Housekeeping, and Valet to deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will manage budgets, forecasts, labor, and standards while partnering with hotel leadership to drive overall performance. The position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, strong financial acumen, and guest relations at a luxury level. Responsibilities- Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership of Front Office, Housekeeping, and Valet operations with clear direction to department leaders
- Establish and maintain consistent Rooms division operating standards and accountability across departments
- Maintain a visible presence in guest-facing and back-of-house areas to ensure standards are met
- Monitor rooms-related systems and controls to protect the guest experience
- Coordinate communication and operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, and Valet for seamless guest journeys
- Review daily operations and forecasts to develop appropriate operational plans
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement and implement solutions with department leaders
- Serve as senior Rooms leader and take additional leadership duties as assigned by General Manager
- Lead Front Office operations to ensure efficient and welcoming guest processes
- Oversee Housekeeping to maintain luxury standards and proper coordination with Front Office
- Manage Valet operations to deliver warm, efficient, and safe arrival experiences
- Develop and coach Rooms leaders and drive talent development in partnership with People & Development
- Monitor staffing, scheduling, training, and departmental communication to meet business needs
- Develop and manage Rooms division budgets, forecasts, labor plans, and productivity measures
- Review financial and operating performance to improve efficiency while protecting guest experience
- Lead guest relations and service recovery efforts, addressing concerns promptly
- Mentor department leaders to maintain a positive, inclusive, service-focused environment
- Balance financial performance with service excellence and guest satisfaction
- Support capital planning affecting Rooms-related operations
- Prepare for and respond to VIP, groups, and high-volume periods with effective plans
- Maintain strong cross-functional relationships with other departments to optimize guest journeys
- Ensure alignment of occupancy, patterns, and group activity with staffing and resources
- Monitor guest feedback and quality results to drive sustainable improvements
- Assist General Manager in resolving significant guest concerns and special situations
- Pre-opening or hotel-opening experience is a plus
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible Rooms or operations leadership experience preferred
- Experience leading managers and multiple operating functions within a hotel environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, forecasts, labor, guest-service performance, and operating standards
- Previous leadership in Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, or Rooms Division operations
- Luxury, lifestyle, or full-service hotel experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of property-management systems and room-status processes
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced luxury setting
- Pre-opening or hotel-opening experience is a plus
