Overview

As Director of Leasing, you steer leasing strategy and execution across multiple shopping centers to drive revenue and occupancy. You'll cultivate relationships with a wide range of tenants and position them to optimize mix and profitability, while partnering with Marketing and cross-functional teams to align campaigns. The role involves end-to-end deal management, budget awareness, and market analysis to inform decisions and enhance asset value. This is a high-impact, executive-facing position ideal for a results-driven leader who shapes leasing outcomes and market presence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead renewal negotiations and secure leases that beat revenue targets
  • Source and cultivate new leasing prospects across local, regional, and national markets
  • Evaluate prospective tenants and negotiate favorable lease structures
  • Develop data-driven leasing strategies and compelling pitch materials
  • Maintain understanding of budgets, leasing activity, traffic trends, and demographics
  • Collaborate with Marketing to align leasing strategies and promotional materials
  • Serve as market expert for assigned assets and monitor industry trends
  • Manage end-to-end deal flow and ensure accurate lease documentation and construction
  • Prepare revenue budgets and forecasts to support planning and profitability
  • Implement strategies to mitigate bad debt and protect financial performance
  • Oversee compliance with mall design criteria and brand alignment
  • Support revenue collection and streamline tenant transactions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7 years of progressive retail leasing experience
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proven track record of high occupancy and revenue growth
  • Deep understanding of market dynamics and trade areas
  • Knowledge of retail lease structures, terms, and negotiations
  • Established relationships with local, regional, and national brands
  • Executive-level presentation skills for ownership and leadership
  • High-energy, fast-paced, multi-priority management
