Overview In this role you will be the senior Looker expert responsible for stabilizing and evolving a critical analytics platform used across multiple business lines. You will lead platform operations, upgrades, and governance while enabling cloud migration and AI-driven analytics. The position emphasizes transferring knowledge to build an in-house capability and ensuring scalable, secure data access. A strong Fit combines deep Looker mastery with enterprise-scale delivery and mentorship.

Responsibilities- Provide L3/L4 production support for Looker (Dev/Prod)
- Lead and validate upgrades, releases, and patching
- Support GitHub/LookML workflows and Dev/Prod coordination
- Troubleshoot complex performance and modeling issues
- Implement scripted user provisioning and entitlement management
- Address access issues including Azure AD group synchronization and entitlement drift
- Establish governance guardrails and documentation
- Support Looker APIs (Inline Queries, Query ID, Admin APIs)
- Validate performance, concurrency, and usage patterns
- Define and execute test criteria for customer hosted Google hosted Looker Core
- Support Teradata to Snowflake query validation via Looker
- Standardize modeling, query behavior, and performance expectations
- Produce documentation, runbooks, and best practices
- Mentor internal engineers to transition ownership
Key requirements- 7+ years in analytics/BI engineering roles
- 4+ years of hands on Looker experience in enterprise environments
- Expert in LookML, Looker Dev/Prod workflows, and GitHub based CI/CD
- Strong Looker API experience (Inline Queries, SDKs, Admin APIs)
- Experience supporting platforms with 1,000+ users
- Familiarity with identity and access management (Azure AD preferred)
