Overview In this role you lead a construction procurement team at SpaceX, driving sourcing and contract strategies for building and facilities across Starlink sites. You collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure on-time project execution and cost effectiveness, while developing programs to reduce spend and maximize supplier value. You will shape supplier relationships, negotiate key terms, and oversee contract performance to support SpaceX's rapid growth and multi-planetary ambitions.
Responsibilities- Lead a team of 5-10 buyers responsible for purchasing construction goods and services for Starlink site builds
- Co-develop and implement contract management processes to ensure successful project execution
- Create sourcing strategies to reduce risk, optimize cash flow, and achieve cost savings
- Build strategic stakeholder relationships to enable value-focused supplier models and continuous cost reduction
- Identify and drive cost reduction projects with cross-functional coordination and progress updates
- Perform quantitative and business analyses to assess financial impacts and performance for assigned categories
- Collaborate to define SLAs and KPIs for suppliers and monitor delivery, cost, quality, and timeliness
- Conduct market research and benchmarking for assigned categories
- Draft contract documents with legal, manage contracts, and ensure obligations are met
- Negotiate to maximize value and reduce risk through strategic negotiations
- Identify year-over-year cost optimization opportunities by reducing usage and waste
- Establish preferred suppliers for assigned categories
- Develop programs to monitor and improve supplier performance via KPIs
- Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices; drive transaction reduction for assigned categories
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years in engineering, purchasing/supply chain, contract negotiation, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, master production scheduling, construction, facilities or industrial plant management
- or 10+ years in one or more of the same areas
