Overview As part of our Executive Liability Division, you will manage a portfolio of claims, guiding coverage and liability analysis toward resolution. You will collaborate with underwriters and reinsurers, supervise defense counsel, and shape litigation and settlement strategies. The role is on-site four days a week in Schaumburg or Chicago, with one remote day, supporting a culture of open learning and strong relationships. You will operate in a dynamic environment focused on fiduciary, employment practices, and directors' and officers' liability. Responsibilities- Analyze each claim in detail and monitor progress toward resolution
- Evaluate coverage and liability, issue written opinions, and oversee defense counsel
- Develop and implement claim litigation and resolution strategies
- Provide information to underwriters and reinsurers on claims and legal trends
- Collect and analyze needed information for investigations (reports, policies, appraisals, releases, statements, records)
- Attend arbitrations or mediations as necessary
- May affect settlements or reserves within limits and submit recommendations
- Ensure timely, accurate claim payments and compliance with laws and company procedures
- Provide technical advice to other areas as needed
Key requirements- JD and current attorney license
- 2 to 6 years of related experience
- Experience in litigation, insurance coverage, employment practices, or claims adjusting preferred
