Overview

In this role you drive growth and lead construction dispute resolution projects within Exponent's Construction Consulting Practice. You'll expand client relationships, guide strategic business development, and oversee dispute support from claims to litigation. You'll mentor staff and contribute to thought leadership while delivering analyses and expert reports on delays, costs, damages, and productivity. This is a high-impact position with cross-functional collaboration to shape complex construction outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Expand construction consulting work by developing and managing new client relationships
  • Provide strategic planning to identify and secure new business opportunities and promote Exponent's services
  • Generate revenue to build a profitable team of consultants
  • Oversee client assignments; assist with claims preparation, review, and analysis; support dispute processes including litigation
  • Prepare analyses and expert reports on delay, cost, damages, lost profits, and lost productivity
  • Recruit, develop and mentor staff in delays, impacts, costs, damages, and construction advisory
  • Promote services through client meetings, conference presentations, thought leadership, and seminars
Key requirements
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in construction claims consulting and construction industry
  • Significant experience in contract dispute resolution, construction claims, and litigation services
  • Prior experience as an expert in formal dispute resolution forums (court/arbitration) preferred
  • Proven business development and client management track record
  • Strong leadership and client interaction skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Expert witness testimonial experience required
