Overview As a Senior Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor, you will lead cost management for a large-scale data center program, acting as the primary client interface. You'll deliver cost planning, estimating, and value optimization across multiple projects, collaborating with design teams, contractors, and stakeholders. You'll drive cost efficiency in mission-critical facilities and advise on commercial risk and procurement strategies. Responsibilities- Estimate and negotiate change orders across the data center lifecycle
- Produce and present final cost plans for all design stages
- Develop cost estimates for building, MEP, power, cooling, and infrastructure systems with design teams
- Reconcile changes and align cost data with program objectives
- Coordinate all sources of cost information for discussions with suppliers and subcontractors
- Lead cost reviews and executive summaries of contractor submissions
- Drive value engineering and cost optimization through design and procurement
- Manage cost checks, valuations, post-contract cost management and change control
- Prepare funding/budget presentations and manage contingency and risk allowances
- Produce monthly cost reports and program-level forecasting for leadership
- Mentor talent and demonstrate leadership in service delivery
- Utilize internal software to track margin performance and financial reporting
- Promote consistent delivery practices and a one-business culture
- Adhere to SOX controls where applicable
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field
- 5-7 years of cost management/quantity surveying experience in construction
- Experience leading cost management on medium to large projects, preferably data centers or mission-critical facilities
- Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, cost planning, value management, and risk management
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Experience in fast-paced, multi-project program environments
- RICS accreditation or progress toward chartership preferred
